The signature Studio Wrap touch is visible in the eclectic potli-inspired bar chairs and the bar built with copper pipes.

Traditional water vessels sourced from across India are dotted around the space, in distressed-chic antique armoires.

This design commission was Gupta’s firm StudioWrap’s first restaurant. Two years in the making—because of various hiccups including the November 2015 Chennai floods—Gupta’s style is evident, and her signature potli motif can be seen on the bar stools here.

Through unique materials and forms, the Studio explored the visual nuances of water. A long sofa is upholstered in a soft gradient of blue to represent the shades of the sea as well as to complement a video artwork by artist Rajorshi Ghosh. Metal, burnt wood, and linen add another dimension of sensory interest to the space, while the signature Studio Wrap touch is visible in the eclectic potli-inspired bar chairs and the bar built with copper pipes.
